Geen Kinderspel / No Child’s Play

"One should always play fairly when one has the winning cards."

‘No Child’s Play’ is a touching exhibition about Jewish children during the Holocaust. The exposition shows toys from children who during the war years were imprisoned in the camps or went into hiding.
Thank to their toys, children of the Holocaust were able to forget their fear and misery for a while. Now, the toys tell their stories. About a Jewish puppet manufacturer who was only allowed to make puppets for Jews, and only with a yellow star. About ‘Ghettopoly’, a Monopoly variation invented in the ghetto of Theresienstadt, and about a teddy bear, dressed up in a camp uniform…
The exhibition is organized by the foundation Stolpersteine Schiedam, in collaboration with Christians for Israel and Yad VaShem Nederland.

During the exhibition there is also an exposition of the Israeli artist Mali Klein (Rehovot 1958). Mali works with paper, both recycled and self-made from various fibers, and uses the original colors of the paper. She exhibits on a regular basis in and outside Holland.
Mali is a registered artist with the NABK (National Association for Visual Artist), and a member of the VAK (Association Amstelland Art).
She is also part-time art teacher, gives creative courses after school, and organizes artistic school projects on regular basis. For more information, see: www.klein-kunst.eu
